HPCL Signs 10-Year LNG Purchase Agreement with ADNOC Gas
Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) has entered a 10-year Sale Purchase Agreement with Abu Dhabi Gas Liquefaction Company to procure 5 million tonnes per annum of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) for its regasification terminal in Chhara, Gujarat, starting September 2025. This agreement will support HPCL's refineries and key sectors like fertilizers and power, while also enhancing India's energy mix and solidifying the relationship between India and the UAE, the latter being India's largest LNG supplier.

Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) has signed a Sale Purchase Agreement (SPA) with Abu Dhabi Gas Liquefaction Company (ALNG), a subsidiary of ADNOC Gas, to procure Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) for a 10-year term. HPCL will receive 5 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) of LNG at its regasification terminal in Chhara, Gujarat, dedicated in September 2025.
The supplies will meet the gas requirements for HPCL's refineries, City Gas Distribution (CGD) network, and key sectors such as fertilizers, power, and petrochemicals. This partnership enhances HPCL's position as a reliable natural gas supplier and aligns with India’s goal of increasing the share of gas in its energy mix. The agreement also underscores the strengthening relationship between India and the UAE, with India being the largest LNG customer of the UAE.
