The Hungarian Defense Forces are integrating new Scorpio off-road ambulances to improve battlefield medical evacuation capabilities. These vehicles, designed for extreme terrains, can transport multiple casualties efficiently, addressing critical needs in defense healthcare.

The Hungarian Defense Forces are enhancing their battlefield medical evacuation capabilities with the addition of Scorpio off-road ambulances, capable of carrying up to 6,900 kilograms and reaching speeds of 120 km/h. The initial fleet will consist of five vehicles, with an expansion goal of eleven by 2029, aimed at improving operations in Debrecen and Várpalota.
Each vehicle can accommodate various configurations of patients and is designed for extreme weather conditions from -30 to +40 degrees Celsius. The procurement reflects a broader commitment to advancing medical capabilities within defense healthcare, which also includes the development of Role 2 field hospitals and rotary-wing medical evacuation support. Continuous adaptation and training for medical staff remain essential for effective deployment.
