The Hungarian Defense Forces have reinforced protection at the Mátravidék Power Plant in Lőrinci with 24-hour military security provided by the Budapest Garrison Brigade. This decision, made on February 25, aims to enhance the security of critical energy infrastructure across Hungary, as outlined in Government Decree 30/2026 on February 27.

Security operations are currently active at 75 locations, including patrolling and drone protection. The Defense Forces are collaborating with the Ministry of the Interior, local governments, and security companies to ensure effective communication and energy supply security.
