General Hurry has been appointed as the commander of the Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, following his role as deputy commander and interim commander after Gen. Duke Richardson's retirement. AFMC, which manages an $81 billion budget and oversees approximately 89,000 personnel, plays a crucial role in supporting major Air Force weapon systems. Despite concerns about the command's status potentially being downgraded, U.S. Rep. Mike Turner affirmed that its significance in Air Force decision-making remains intact.

General Hurry has been confirmed as the commander of the Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. He previously served as the AFMC deputy commander since January 2024 and took on the interim commander role in July 2024 after Gen.
Duke Richardson's retirement. AFMC manages an annual budget of $81 billion and employs about 89,000 personnel, overseeing major Air Force weapon systems' support and sustainment. Hurry, a 1991 Air Force Academy graduate, holds advanced degrees in logistics management and national security.
While there were concerns about AFMC’s status potentially decreasing to a three-star command, U.S. Rep. Mike Turner indicated that this would not diminish the command's significance or influence in Air Force decision-making.
