Hwaseong Special City plans to install 104 renewable energy power generation facilities in Jeongnam-myeon by the end of the year. A consortium agreement was signed on the 20th to support the 2026 Renewable Energy Convergence Support Project, detailing participant roles and project management.

The project aims to reduce fuel costs and carbon emissions by utilizing renewable sources such as solar power, solar thermal, and geothermal in various structures. Facilities will include 845 kW solar power (66 locations), 455 kW geothermal (26 locations), and 430 m2 solar thermal (12 locations).
