Hydrogen Storage Tanks Installed at Stuttgart Green Hydrogen Hub
The Green Hydrogen Hub Stuttgart has successfully installed four low-pressure storage tanks, each with a capacity of 2,100 kg of hydrogen. This marks a significant milestone in developing a flexible hydrogen production and supply system in Stuttgart.

Four low-pressure hydrogen storage tanks, each weighing approximately 65 tons and standing 22 meters tall, have been installed at the Green Hydrogen Hub Stuttgart (GH2S). Together, these tanks provide a total volume of 328 cubic meters and can store around 2,100 kg of hydrogen, sufficient for a hydrogen bus to travel up to 20,000 kilometers.
The hydrogen produced from renewable energy sources will be stored in these tanks for flexible distribution. This infrastructure supports a regional hydrogen supply system, enhancing Stuttgart's renewable energy integration and future energy resilience.
