Hylane and H2 MOBILITY Launch €8/kg Hydrogen Refueling for Heavy-Duty Trucks in Europe
Hylane and H2 MOBILITY have announced a partnership to provide green hydrogen for heavy-duty trucks at €8 per kilogram starting January 1, 2026, supporting the EU's goal to reduce transport emissions by 55% by 2030. The initiative includes on-site hydrogen production and plans to expand H2 MOBILITY's refueling stations from 40 to 80 by 2030, despite challenges in renewable energy demand and infrastructure development. Analysts estimate that the hydrogen sector could create 20,000-30,000 jobs by 2030, enhancing Europe's energy security and sustainability.

Hylane and H2 MOBILITY have partnered to offer green hydrogen at €8 per kilogram for heavy-duty trucks starting January 1, 2026. This initiative aligns with the EU's goal to reduce transport emissions by 55% by 2030.
H2 MOBILITY currently operates around 40 hydrogen refueling stations and plans to expand to 80 by 2030. The partnership includes on-site hydrogen production through modular electrolysis, which efficiently converts water and renewable electricity into hydrogen, significantly reducing lifecycle CO₂ emissions compared to diesel.
The EU Renewable Energy Directive encourages the use of green hydrogen in transport, and financial incentives support fleet operators. However, challenges such as increased renewable energy demand and uneven infrastructure development remain. Analysts predict the hydrogen sector could create 20,000-30,000 jobs by 2030, further enhancing Europe's energy security and sustainability.
