IAR Brașov and Airbus Explore Cooperation for H225M Helicopter Under SAFE Program
IAR Brașov and Airbus held an event on March 12 to explore collaboration on the H225M helicopter project in Romania. The meeting aimed to align technical capabilities and identify synergies in aerospace sectors. The collaboration seeks to build a local ecosystem to support the Romanian Armed Forces, with a budget of EUR 16.68 billion from the European Commission's SAFE program. Airbus plans to expand operations in Romania, creating jobs and a supply chain, contingent on an order for 42 H225M units.

The event facilitated B2B sessions for aerospace and defense suppliers from France and Romania, focusing on technical alignment in aerostructures, electronics, and engine components.
The goal is to develop a local ecosystem to support the Romanian Armed Forces' future fleet, backed by EUR 16.68 billion in loans from the European Commission. Airbus aims to expand its Romanian operations and create a supply chain contingent on an order for 42 helicopters.
