The Idaho Advanced Energy Consortium (IAEC) has successfully advanced five projects to Stage II of the U.S. Economic Development Administration's (EDA) funding consideration for the 2025 Regional Technology Innovation Tech Hub Program. These projects, part of the Intermountain West Nuclear Energy Corridor, aim to modernize fuel management, enhance the nuclear workforce, and scale innovations, with a funding request of approximately $75 million over five years. The EDA will review the Stage II proposal, with funding decisions anticipated in spring 2026.

The Idaho Advanced Energy Consortium (IAEC) announced that all five of its component projects for the 2025 Regional Technology Innovation Tech Hub Program have been selected by the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) to advance to the final Stage II competition.
The projects are part of the Intermountain West Nuclear Energy Corridor (INEC) Tech Hub, which was selected as one of 31 regional Tech Hubs by the EDA. The Stage I proposal was submitted in November 2025, requesting approximately $75 million in funding over the next five years for projects focused on modernizing fuel management, growing the nuclear workforce, and scaling nuclear innovation. The EDA completed a review of the Stage I application and invited IAEC to submit a Stage II proposal in February 2026, with funding decisions expected in spring 2026.
