The IDF has launched a robotic system that cuts tank maintenance time from 48 hours to just 2 hours, developed by the Israeli company Ruby AI. The robot operates autonomously, allowing maintenance without human presence in hazardous conditions.

Founded in 2020 by Daniel Ben Dov, Ruby AI specializes in robotics for military use, including a refueling robot for the UAE. The company employs around 20 engineers and is also exploring robots for replacing heavy wheels and clearing underground tunnels. The IDF's initiative aims to alleviate soldiers from dangerous maintenance tasks.
