IDOM Deploys MARMOK-A-5 Prototype at BiMEP Test Site
The MARMOK-A-5 wave energy converter has been successfully deployed at the BiMEP site, marking a significant step in the EuropeWave project. This deployment allows IDOM to initiate offshore commissioning, with expectations of improved performance in real sea conditions.
IDOM Consulting, Engineering, Architecture S.A.U has successfully deployed its MARMOK-A-5 prototype at the Biscay Marine Energy Platform (BiMEP) test site. This prototype is designed to harness renewable energy from ocean waves and features a newly commissioned power take-off (PTO) system.
The MARMOK-A-5 is the first wave energy converter (WEC) to connect to the grid via the HarshLab buoy at BiMEP. The deployment is a pivotal milestone for the EuropeWave program, aiming to advance wave energy technologies. Data collected during this phase will inform future developments and accelerate the path to commercial wave energy solutions, emphasizing the importance of public support and collaboration in the industry.
