Ignite Power Achieves Record Solar Home System Deployment in Rwanda, Connecting 1,500 Homes Daily
Ignite Power has set a record in Rwanda by deploying 1,500 solar home systems daily, providing electricity to 6,000 people. Since winning a tender from Rwanda's Energy Development Corporation Ltd (EDCL), Ignite installed over 14,970 units in ten days. The project aims to connect 250,000 homes within two years, valued at $38 million. Ignite's solar systems are noted as the most affordable in East Africa, with a micro lending option allowing payments of $6 per month.

Ignite Power has reached a deployment rate of 1,500 solar home systems per day in Rwanda, supplying electricity to 6,000 people daily. Within ten days of securing a tender from Rwanda's Energy Development Corporation Ltd (EDCL), Ignite installed over 14,970 units.
The initiative is part of a government effort to enhance solar energy in rural areas, aiming to connect 250,000 homes over the next two years, valued at $38 million. Ignite's solar systems are recognized as the most affordable in East Africa, with costs around $0.03 per lumen and a micro lending option of $6 monthly for two years.
