Impulse Space Secures $500 Million in Series D Funding to Expand Workforce and Production
Impulse Space has raised $500 million in Series D funding to hire 200 employees and double its production capacity. This investment reflects the increasing demand for space logistics and orbital transfer vehicles, particularly from the U.S. Space Force and commercial sectors.

Impulse Space has announced a $500 million Series D funding round aimed at hiring 200 new employees and expanding its production capacity. Led by 137 Ventures and BANNER VC, with participation from Founders Fund, Lux Capital, and Linse Capital, this round underscores the rising interest in space technology, particularly as the U.S. government allocates resources for national security.
The company, founded by former SpaceX engineer Tom Mueller, has developed the Helios orbital transfer vehicle, capable of moving payloads of up to 5,000 kilograms. Impulse's order book has tripled over the past year, driven by the demand for satellite deployment and defense missions.
The funding will also support further development of its Mira spacecraft, which recently completed its third flight. Impulse Space's expansion occurs within a competitive aerospace talent market, as engineers have more job opportunities across various locations.
