The National Institute for Aerospace Research and Development 'Elie Carafoli' (INCAS) has been certified as a Design Organization by the National Military Aeronautics Authority of the Ministry of Defense, confirming its qualification to conduct design activities for military aircraft. This certification, completed at the end of 2025, aligns INCAS with RMAR 21/EMAR 21 requirements for modifications and repairs of both small and large aircraft.

The process involved audits and the enhancement of internal design and management procedures, reflecting INCAS' expertise in military aviation. This milestone strengthens INCAS' position as a key institution for applied research in Romania, enhancing national security and innovation capabilities.
