Independent Robotics Secures $2.28M Contract for AI in Marine Robotics
Independent Robotics Inc. has won a $2.28 million contract from the Canadian government to test its IMPAC software for autonomous robots. This funding will support a year-long program aimed at deploying conversational AI in multi-agent robotic systems.

Independent Robotics Inc. has been awarded a $2.28 million contract under the Innovative Solutions Canada program to test its IMPAC natural-language command software. The initiative, launched in February 2026 at DRDC Atlantic Research Centre, aims to validate the use of AI for controlling autonomous marine vehicles in real-world conditions.
This funding from Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) will facilitate the operational testing over the next year. Successful implementation could enhance human-machine interaction and decision-making in diverse environments, addressing challenges in remote operations.
