India Advances AMCA Program, Plans 67 Ghatak UCAVs and Seeks 6th Gen Fighter Partnerships
India is set to enhance its air combat capabilities through the AMCA program and the induction of 67 Ghatak UCAVs. The government is also exploring international collaborations for sixth-generation fighter aircraft development.

The procurement process for India's Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) is progressing, with a Request for Proposal (RFP) expected soon to be issued to private sector players. In addition, the government is exploring partnerships for developing sixth-generation fighter aircraft, indicating interest in collaboration with ongoing international programs.
A proposal to induct approximately 67 Ghatak UCAVs has been approved, aiming to enhance India's unmanned combat capabilities. Furthermore, efforts to address critical gaps in the Indian Air Force, including fighter aircraft and AWACS systems, are underway, with contracts anticipated within the next year. Diversifying production capabilities is a focus, with an emphasis on reducing reliance on single manufacturers to bolster supply chain resilience.
