India and Brazil Enhance Defence Cooperation with Akash SAM and Embraer Partnerships
DEFENSE
India and Brazil are deepening their defence ties through strategic cooperation in areas such as air defence and artillery. High-level dialogues in 2025 facilitated discussions on India's Akash surface-to-air missile for Brazil's air defence needs.
Brazil is also interested in the Garuda 105 V2 artillery system and has signed agreements for joint maintenance of submarines. There are plans for shipbuilding collaborations and joint ventures in small arms production. Embraer signed MoUs for a Final Assembly Line for the E175 regional jet and MRO facilities for the C-390 aircraft, enhancing local defence manufacturing capabilities.
