SOLAR ENERGY

The Omkareshwar Floating Solar Power Plant in Madhya Pradesh, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 25, 2024, features a capacity of 278 MW, making it India's largest floating solar project. As part of a 600 MW initiative by Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Limited, the project includes operational units from SJVN Limited, NHDC, and Amp Solar, generating an average of 1.7 million units of electricity daily.

Floating solar technology minimizes land use and enhances efficiency, with the potential for 10% more electricity production than land-based plants. This project is expected to inspire similar initiatives in other states, supporting India's renewable energy targets.
