Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri conducted high-level talks in Berlin focusing on trade, defense, and security cooperation between India and Germany. This engagement reflects the urgency of addressing global energy and food security challenges amidst ongoing geopolitical shifts.

In Berlin, Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri engaged in discussions aimed at enhancing the Indo-German Strategic Partnership. Key topics included trade, security, defense, and digital governance, with particular emphasis on addressing challenges in energy and food security, especially given the current global tensions.
The meetings followed a significant visit by German Chancellor Friedrich Merz to India in January 2026 and come amid a deepening energy crisis linked to the Strait of Hormuz blockade. Misri's agenda involved reviewing the 2026 Defence Industrial Cooperation Roadmap, exploring military hardware co-development, and analyzing the Indo-German Digital Dialogue work plan for 2026-27, which focuses on AI ethics and supply chain security. As part of this European tour, he is set to co-chair the India-Germany Foreign Office Consultations, where the future roadmap for bilateral exchanges will be finalized.
