India Provides $60 Million for KKS Port Development in Northern Sri Lanka
India is set to invest $60 million in the renovation of Kankesanthurai Port in Sri Lanka's Jaffna district, aiming to boost tourism and improve infrastructure, including Palaly Airport. Additionally, the Indian Army has completed a third Bailey bridge on the B-492 Highway, restoring vital connectivity after Cyclone Ditwah, as part of Operation Sagar Bandhu focused on humanitarian assistance and infrastructure restoration.

India will provide $60 million to renovate Kankesanthurai Port in Jaffna district, Sri Lanka, as announced by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake. The project aims to enhance tourism and address infrastructure needs, including improvements to Palaly Airport.
Additionally, the Indian Army completed a third Bailey bridge on the B-492 Highway, restoring connectivity between Kandy and Nuwara Eliya after Cyclone Ditwah caused significant disruption. This bridge construction is part of Operation Sagar Bandhu, which focuses on humanitarian assistance and infrastructure restoration in Sri Lanka.
