Indian Army and MSME Ministry Sign MoU to Enhance Defence Manufacturing and Training
The Indian Army and the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance cooperation in defence manufacturing and training. The MoU, signed by Dr.
Rajneesh and Lieutenant General Rajiv Kumar Sahni, aims to connect eight Army Base Workshops and fourteen Corps Zone Workshops with thirty-three MSME Technology Centres. It focuses on sustainable technical solutions in areas such as Advanced Multi-Axis Machining, 3D Printing, Drone Technology, IIoT, AR, VR, and 5G.
The collaboration will facilitate joint programmes in research, education, training, capacity building, and equipment development, supporting the goals of Atmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India. The initiative seeks to strengthen domestic industrial capacity, promote self-reliance in defence systems, and reduce import dependence.
