Indian Army Awards Contract to Nibe for Elbit Systems PULS Rocket Launchers
The Indian Army has awarded a contract worth INR29.3 billion (US$35 million) to Nibe for the delivery of Elbit Systems' PULS long-range multiple rocket launchers, with initial production units expected within twelve months. The agreement follows a prior contract for local production and technology transfer, and the Indian version, named Suryastra, was first showcased at the Republic Day parade. The PULS system, capable of firing multiple rocket types, is also of interest to other countries, including Israel, Denmark, and the Netherlands.

On 3 January 2026, the Indian Army awarded a contract worth INR29.3 billion (US$35 million) to Nibe for the delivery of Elbit Systems' PULS long-range multiple rocket launchers. Nibe had previously signed an agreement in August 2025 for the production of the system in India, which includes technology transfer.
The Indian version is named Suryastra, first showcased at the Republic Day parade on 26 January. Initial production units are to be delivered within twelve months. The PULS system, mounted on a Tatra T815 6×6 truck, can fire multiple rocket types including EXTRA rockets with a range of 150km and Predator Hawk rockets with a range of 300km. Other potential users of the PULS system include the Israel Defense Force, Denmark, and the Netherlands.
