Indian Army Establishes Community Fitness Centre in Gelemo, Arunachal Pradesh Under Operation Sadbhavana
The Indian Army has set up a Community Fitness Centre & Gym in Gelemo village, Arunachal Pradesh, under Operation Sadbhavana as part of the Vibrant Village Programme. Initiated by the Subansiri Yodha Brigade, the facility aims to promote fitness and empower local youth while enhancing civil-military cooperation in border regions.

The Indian Army has established a Community Fitness Centre & Gym in Gelemo village, Upper Subansiri District, Arunachal Pradesh, under Operation Sadbhavana (2025-26). This initiative, part of the Government of India's Vibrant Village Programme, is led by the Subansiri Yodha Brigade to promote development and strengthen civil-military ties.
The facility aims to provide modern fitness equipment and a space for training and community engagement, fostering a culture of fitness among local youth. The inauguration saw strong community participation, reflecting the Army's commitment to local development. The centre is expected to benefit many in the surrounding areas, supporting various initiatives in infrastructure, sports, education, and healthcare.
