DEFENSE

The Indian Army is set to acquire 30 improved Low-Level Lightweight Radars (LLLR-I) and two Classroom Variant Radars (CRVs) through a Request for Proposal (RFP) issued by the Ministry of Defence, at an estimated cost of Rs 725 crore. The radars will be procured via emergency procurement to enhance air surveillance capabilities across diverse terrains.

LLLR-I systems must integrate with the Akashteer Command and Reporting module and are required to handle hundreds of targets, designating at least 20 tracks to command posts or weapon systems. The first 15 systems and one CRV are to be delivered within 12 months, with a minimum service life of 10 years and at least 60% indigenous content mandated.
