The Indian Army has proposed a Field Exploitation and Capability Acceleration Fund to protect startups from financial losses during user trials. The proposal addresses concerns over startups' struggles following equipment failures and transportation challenges during trials. Many startups lack the financial capacity to recover from losses, discouraging innovation. The fund aims to support startups through high-risk stages and is included in the draft Defence Acquisition Procedure under Low Cost Capital Assets.

The Indian Army has submitted a proposal for a Field Exploitation and Capability Acceleration Fund to the Ministry of Defence to mitigate financial losses for startups during user trials. Startups often face significant challenges transporting systems to trial sites, and failures during trials can lead to complete investment loss.
The proposed fund would provide support during high-risk stages of development, encouraging innovation and reducing financial strain. Issues such as delays in operational testing also contribute to financial burden on startups, emphasizing the need for timely trials. The initiative aligns with the Atmanirbhar Bharat campaign to foster indigenous development.
