Indiana National Guard Unveils Modernized Bloomington Armory
The Indiana National Guard has completed a significant $8.2 million renovation of the Bloomington Armory, enhancing training facilities for the 2nd Battalion, 150th Field Artillery Regiment. This modernization aligns with a broader 20-year plan to upgrade armories across the state to meet contemporary operational standards.

The Bloomington Armory renovation, costing $8.2 million, was completed on schedule following its commencement in September 2024. This project increased the facility's area by 4,400 square feet and modernized over 20,000 square feet, ensuring compliance with current codes and standards.
The armory serves the 2nd Battalion, 150th Field Artillery, a unit with roots dating back to 1882 and a history of service in various conflicts. This initiative is part of a comprehensive 20-year modernization strategy aimed at enhancing the operational readiness of Indiana's National Guard. Upgrades will support training and operational capabilities, reflecting the evolving demands of military missions.
