Emergence India Labs (EIL) has been launched to accelerate India's shift from IT services to advanced autonomous systems in agriculture and manufacturing. With the AI-in-manufacturing market expected to surpass $8 billion by 2030, EIL focuses on developing local AI technologies rather than relying on imports.

The initiative addresses agricultural challenges by promoting robotics to improve productivity, with examples like AI-powered precision sprayers emerging from startups. EIL will partner with the Indian Institute of Science in Bengaluru and expand to 500 researchers within three to four years. This development aims to position India as a leader in autonomous systems, enhancing both agricultural and industrial sectors.
