In 2025, India's Ministry of Defence achieved significant milestones in self-reliance and military readiness, highlighted by Operation Sindoor, which successfully targeted nine terror camps in Pakistan following a deadly attack in Jammu & Kashmir. The defense budget was increased to Rs 6.81 lakh crore, with a focus on domestic procurement, while defense production and exports reached Rs 1.51 lakh crore and Rs 23,622 crore, respectively. The year also featured the inauguration of new production lines for combat aircraft and advancements in indigenous technologies.

Defence production reached Rs 1.51 lakh crore, and exports soared to Rs 23,622 crore. The year also saw the inauguration of new production lines for combat aircraft and advancements in indigenous technologies, underscoring India's commitment to strategic autonomy and military readiness.
