The Indian Ministry of Defence will issue an RFP for 80 Medium Transport Aircraft, with a winning bid expected by mid-2026. Concurrently, a ₹3.25 lakh crore contract for 114 Rafale jets is set for completion by the end of this year, enhancing the Indian Air Force's capabilities.

The Indian Ministry of Defence is preparing to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the Medium Transport Aircraft (MTA) program, which includes plans for the domestic production of 80 aircraft. Expected by mid-2026, the RFP will initiate a competitive bidding process, with contract finalization projected by the end of that year.
In parallel, Dassault Aviation is finalizing a substantial deal for 114 Rafale jets, estimated at ₹3.25 lakh crore, anticipated to be signed by year-end. This MTA initiative will replace the aging An-32 fleet and bolster local manufacturing, while the Rafale acquisition will enhance the Indian Air Force's operational readiness.
