Indonesia Advocates for Climate Action at UNESCAP Meeting

At the 9th Session of the UNESCAP Committee on Environment and Development in Bangkok, Indonesia, led by Deputy Environment Minister Diaz Hendropriyono, called for coordinated climate action among Asia-Pacific nations. The delegation highlighted national initiatives such as mangrove and peatland restoration, circular economy promotion, and responsible water management.
Indonesia discussed blue carbon financing at a side event, aimed at supporting coastal ecosystem protection. The session concluded with the adoption of the Ministerial Declaration on Environment and Development 2026 and a Regional Programme of Action for Sustainable Development. Enhanced regional collaboration is critical for resilience against climate change.
