Indonesia is working with China to secure the release of four Indonesian crew members kidnapped by pirates off Gabon. The attack involved four Indonesian and five Chinese nationals. The Gabonese Navy reported that the IB FISH 7 was attacked by three armed men.

Gabonese security forces later secured the abandoned vessel and escorted it to port. Gabon has tightened maritime security to prevent further piracy incidents.
