Indonesia Opens Battery Precursor Plant at Setangga SEZ in South Kalimantan
Indonesia has inaugurated a battery precursor materials facility by PT Anugerah Barokah Energi Baru at Setangga SEZ in South Kalimantan, with a capacity of 20,000 tonnes to bolster the global lithium battery supply chain. The project is expected to attract IDR67.69 trillion in investment by 2053 and create over 78,000 jobs, aligning with the country's downstreaming policy to enhance economic growth and national defense. The inauguration was attended by various officials, including Defence Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin.
