Indonesian Army Commander Transfers Lieutenant General Widi Prasetijono Amid Legal Case

DEFENSE

Indonesian National Army Commander Agus Subiyanto has transferred Lieutenant General Widi Prasetijono and 186 other high-ranking officers as per TNI Commander's Decree Kep/1664/XII/2025 dated December 15, 2025. Widi, previously a professor at the Defense University, is now the Special Staff to the Chief of Army Staff General Maruli Simanjuntak.

This transfer is suspected to be linked to Widi's involvement in a legal case regarding alleged money laundering connected to PT Cilacap Segara Artha, leading to a state loss of IDR 237 billion. Of the 187 officers transferred, 109 are from the Indonesian Army, 36 from the Navy, and 42 from the Air Force.

The rotation aims to strengthen organizational structure and maintain operational readiness within the TNI. Widi's career included various leadership roles since his appointment as an assistant to President Joko Widodo in 2015.
