Indra, Sener, and Navantia Secure €940 Million in European Defense Funding
The European Defense Fund (EDF) allocates over €1 billion to 57 projects, with Spanish companies receiving €940 million. This funding supports collaborative development and R&D initiatives, enhancing Europe's defense capabilities.

The European Commission has allocated €1.07 billion to 57 defense projects for 2025, with Spanish firms Indra, Sener, and Navantia involved in 42 of these initiatives. Collectively, these projects will receive €942 million from the EU, contributing to a total budget of approximately €1.15 billion.
The EDF has a total budget of €8 billion from 2021 to 2027, and to date, the Commission has distributed €5 billion. The largest Spanish project, Famous 3, has an estimated cost of €115 million, with public support nearing €79 million.
Other notable initiatives include Spider 2, involving multiple key players in the defense sector. This funding could significantly advance Spain's defense technology capabilities, but ongoing collaboration amid controversies raises questions about industry dynamics.
