INESC-ID Launches Horizon SOLAR-MOVE Project to Advance EV Adoption with Photovoltaic Solutions
The Horizon SOLAR-MOVE project, led by INESC-ID, aims to promote EV adoption through integrated photovoltaic solutions. Kicking off in November 2025, the project will last 42 months with a €7 million grant and involve 34 partners across 16 countries. It will develop Vehicle-Integrated Photovoltaic solutions and Electric Vehicle Compliant Parking Lot Integrated PV charging stations to support electrified road transport and alleviate power grid pressure. Pilot projects will be conducted in seven countries, contributing to policy recommendations and regulatory frameworks.

The Horizon SOLAR-MOVE project, coordinated by INESC-ID, commenced in November 2025 and will run for 42 months, concluding in April 2029, with a grant of approximately €7 million. The project involves 34 partners across 16 countries and aims to facilitate the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) through Vehicle-Integrated Photovoltaic (VIPV) solutions and Electric Vehicle Compliant Parking Lot Integrated PV (ePIPV) charging stations.
Demonstrations will include five VIPV types and various ePIPV features across highways and urban areas. Pilot projects will be executed in seven countries, with findings aimed at influencing policy recommendations and procurement guidelines.
