Ingka Group Launches Hybrid Wind and Solar Power Park in Portugal
Ingka Group is converting an existing wind farm in Portugal into a hybrid energy hub, adding solar generation to achieve 233 GWh annual output. This project aligns with Ingka's €7.5 billion renewable investment plan aiming for 15 TWh of annual clean power by 2030, enhancing grid capacity without new infrastructure. The facility combines wind and solar technologies to optimize production and stability, contributing to Portugal's renewable energy goals.

Ingka Group is transforming a wind farm in Portugal into a hybrid renewable energy hub by integrating solar generation, increasing total output to 233 GWh annually. The existing wind park, with 25 turbines and a 50 MW capacity, produces about 150 GWh per year, while the new solar installation will add 83 GWh.
This hybrid configuration enhances grid capacity from 34% to around 50% and aligns generation with daytime electricity consumption. Ingka's broader €7.5 billion investment plan aims for 15 TWh of annual renewable energy by 2030. The project exemplifies efficient use of existing infrastructure to expand clean energy production.
