Innovative Startups Showcase Solutions at IFAT Munich
Approximately 50 startups presented advancements in AI, sensor technologies, and biobased methods critical for Circular Economy. These innovations address regulatory pressures for microplastic detection and contamination reduction in waste management.

At IFAT Munich, startups introduced various innovations enhancing environmental technology. ZAITRUS, founded in 2024, has developed a real-time sensor system for identifying plastic particles in liquids, aiming for a full monitoring service by 2026/27.
CellX Biosolutions, also launched in 2024, is focusing on using bacteria to degrade contaminants like microplastics and PFAS, targeting commercialization by 2028. The Norwegian startup Litech AS unveiled an AI-supported sensor technology to detect hidden lithium batteries in waste, currently in use since 2024.
Additionally, Enodo Robotics, a Swedish startup, showcased its patented robotic gripping system for efficient e-waste recycling. These technologies could significantly enhance waste management and recycling efficiency.
