IonQ has appointed Katie Arrington as Chief Information Officer (CIO), effective January 19, 2026, and Leslie Kershaw as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). Arrington, previously the U.S. Department of Defense's CIO, will oversee the protection and modernization of IonQ's global enterprise systems and strengthen cybersecurity and operational resilience.
Kershaw, currently with IonQ Capella, will report to Arrington. IonQ, based in College Park, Maryland, is focused on quantum computing applications across various sectors. The company claims a two-qubit gate fidelity of 99.99% in 2025.
