Iran Army Commander Advocates People-Centered Development for National Security
Brigadier General Ali Jahanshahi, Commander of the Iranian Army Ground Forces, advocated for a people-centered approach to national defense during a conference in southeastern Iran, emphasizing that balanced development can enhance military capability and reduce threats. He highlighted ongoing security challenges in Sistan and Baluchestan province, while Major General Yahya Rahim-Safavi described the region as a 'hidden treasure' with the potential to significantly boost Iran's economy within a decade.

Brigadier General Ali Jahanshahi, Commander of the Iranian Army Ground Forces, emphasized the necessity of a people-centered national defense for sustainable security in Iran. Speaking at a conference on mobilization and sustainable security in southeastern Iran, he stated that balanced development reduces threats and encompasses military capability, infrastructure improvement, and social capital enhancement.
He highlighted ongoing security issues in Sistan and Baluchestan province due to terrorist activities and geographical challenges. Major General Yahya Rahim-Safavi, in attendance, called southeastern Iran a 'hidden treasure' and projected that activating the region's capacities could significantly transform Iran's economy within ten years, akin to the impact of oil discovery.
