Iran's NDF Allocates $1 Billion for Strategic Projects in Makran Region
Iran's National Development Fund has allocated $1 billion to strategic projects in the Makran region, focusing on infrastructure and production in Sistan-Baluchestan province. Eleven projects have received $1.25 billion in financing, including a methanol production unit and expansion of Shahid Beheshti Port. The methanol plant, designed to produce 1.65 million tons annually, is 64% complete and expected to be operational in 18 months. Additional projects include a power plant and desalination unit to support local needs.

Iran's National Development Fund has allocated $1 billion for strategic projects in the Makran region of Sistan-Baluchestan province. So far, 11 projects have received $1.25 billion in funding. The methanol production unit, financed in 2022 with $275 million, is 64% complete and expected to be operational in 18 months.
The Shahid Beheshti Port expansion, financed since 2015 with $259 million, includes procurement of port equipment and construction of a small-scale power plant and desalination unit. Two projects are over 80% complete and expected to be operational by summer 2026. Completed projects include a 160-megawatt power plant and a fiber optic network.
