Irish Company NorthStandard Insures Ship Carrying Munitions to Israel
Irish company NorthStandard EU DAC has insured the Holger G, a Portuguese vessel transporting 440 tonnes of munitions, including artillery projectiles and mortar bomb components, to Israel. The cargo, sourced from India and transiting through Egypt, has drawn criticism from Amnesty International for its implications regarding arms transfers to Israel. Additionally, the GAA faces protests over its sponsorship ties with Allianz, linked to Israeli defense firms.

Irish company NorthStandard EU DAC insured the Holger G, a Portuguese vessel transporting 440 tonnes of munitions to Israel. The cargo included 175 tonnes of artillery projectiles and 140 tonnes of mortar bomb components, originating from India and stopping in Egypt.
The ship's journey involved passing through Spanish waters and was linked to arms produced by IMI Systems and Elbit Systems. Amnesty International criticized states facilitating arms transfers to Israel, urging compliance with international legal obligations. The GAA faces protests over its sponsorship ties with Allianz, a company previously linked to Israeli defense firms.
