Iron Mountain Plans Seven-Building Data Center Campus Near Austin, Texas
DATA AND AI INFRASTRUCTURENATURAL GASPOWER GRIDS & TRANSMISSION
Iron Mountain is proposing a data center campus named Taylor Meadows outside Austin, Texas, covering approximately 500 acres off FM3349. The project includes plans for up to seven buildings and an on-site substation.
While the first grid-connected buildings are projected to be operational around 2030, Iron Mountain is exploring natural gas options to expedite capacity. The facility will implement a closed-loop cooling system and is designed to use less water than a previously planned residential project for the site. This marks Iron Mountain's first data center initiative in Texas, adding to its existing 415MW capacity in 21 markets worldwide.
