Isar Aerospace Prepares for Launch in Norway with Support from German Officials
Isar Aerospace is set to attempt a launch of its Bayern rocket in Northern Norway after a previous failure in January. German Chancellor Friedrich Merz visited alongside Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, emphasizing Isar Aerospace's strategic importance for Europe’s space capabilities. The delegation, including defense and industrial ministers, visited Isar's launch site at Andøya Space, highlighting a commitment to strengthen Europe's space sovereignty amid an investment of 35 billion euros for space defense capabilities.

The visit included defense and industry ministers from both nations, reinforcing the partnership in space. Isar Aerospace operates its own launch site at Andøya Space, the first orbital launch site in continental Europe.
The company is completing preparations for the upcoming qualification flight, with the launch window for the 'Onward and Upward' mission expected to open on March 19. This mission is crucial for qualifying the 'Spectrum' rocket systems and enhancing access to space for Europe and NATO.
