Israel Deploys Iron Dome to UAE Amid Ongoing Conflict with Iran
Israel has operationally deployed the Iron Dome air defense system to the UAE for the first time, responding to Iranian attacks. This significant military cooperation underscores a shift in regional defense dynamics and partnerships.

Israel has deployed its Iron Dome air defense system to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) along with several dozen personnel, marking the first operational use of the system outside its own territory. This deployment follows approximately 550 ballistic and cruise missiles and over 2,200 drones launched by Iran against the UAE, making it one of the most targeted nations in the region.
The Iron Dome intercepted dozens of these threats, significantly supporting Abu Dhabi’s defense efforts. This move reflects deepening military ties formed under the 2020 Abraham Accords, enhancing cooperation between Israel and the UAE amid the ongoing conflict.
The presence of Israeli troops in the UAE is sensitive politically, but the scale of Iranian attacks has altered public perception positively towards such support. The decision to share advanced defense technology could set a precedent for future collaborations.
