Israel Prepares for Escalation Against Iran, Awaiting US Approval
Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz announced readiness to escalate military actions against Iran, pending US approval. This marks a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict that began with Ayatollah Khamenei's death on February 28.

Israel is prepared to resume military operations against Iran as Defence Minister Israel Katz confirmed that the Israel Defense Forces have finalized preparations. The ongoing conflict, which commenced following the death of Ayatollah Khamenei, is now in its seventh week, with Katz stating that the objective is to target the Khamenei family and Iran's economic infrastructure.
Concurrently, US President Donald Trump extended a ceasefire, effective April 8, but reports indicate low prospects for negotiations. Iran's new supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, remains in a precarious state following severe injuries.
The US military has implemented a blockade on Iranian ports, intercepting numerous vessels since April 13, impacting oil trade dynamics. Energy prices have risen amid this uncertainty, emphasizing the conflict's broader implications on global markets.
