Italian Startup Mirai Robotics Develops Autonomous Marine Drones
Mirai Robotics is developing two autonomous surface drones, one 5 meters and another 10 meters in length, aimed at maritime monitoring. The project, backed by a €3.5 million investment, targets various marine activities including defense and surveillance.

Mirai Robotics, based in Puglia, is focused on creating autonomous marine drones for diverse applications such as civil, industrial, institutional, and military use. The startup has already developed a 5-meter prototype and plans to unveil a 10-meter version this autumn.
Founders Luciano Belviso, Luca Mascaro, and Davide Dattoli have pooled their expertise and resources to secure initial funding of €3.5 million from Italian venture capitalists and angel investors. The company currently employs a team of 15 engineers from Italy, Switzerland, and Germany.
Mirai's drones are designed for autonomous operation in maritime areas, capable of surveillance and reconnaissance, with advanced sonar technology for underwater monitoring. The initiative aims to strengthen Europe's ocean economy and improve maritime security.
