Italy Launches 'Space and Blue' Initiative to Integrate Space and Marine Technologies
Italy's 'Space and Blue' program aims to merge space and underwater technology, addressing critical data flows and geopolitical challenges. This initiative seeks to foster innovation and collaboration across sectors, with a funding pool exceeding two million euros for projects focused on key technological areas.

The 'Space and Blue' initiative, presented by the Italian Space Agency (ASI), aims to integrate space and marine technologies. The program includes a funding pool of over €2 million to support research and development projects lasting up to 24 months.
Key areas of focus encompass sensing and monitoring, robotics and AI, energy and propulsion, quantum communication and cybersecurity, and critical infrastructure protection. The deadline for project submissions is May 23.
This initiative is part of ASI's broader strategy to enhance synergies between the space and maritime sectors, responding to increased data traffic demands in the Mediterranean and evolving geopolitical conditions. The integration of diverse technologies is expected to yield high-impact innovative solutions.
