Italy's DRASS to Supply Six DGK Submarines and SDVs to Indonesia
Italy's Ministry of Defence has proposed transferring the decommissioned Garibaldi aircraft carrier to Indonesia. This move supports the Indonesian Navy's modernization, including a contract for six DGK compact submarines from DRASS, valued at approximately $1.4 billion. The deal includes training and logistics support. The first tranche worth $480 million covers two submarines. Indonesia becomes the launch customer for the DGK submarines, featuring advanced capabilities for underwater warfare. Additionally, Italy plans to supply three maritime patrol aircraft and has signed an intent for M-346F aircraft delivery.

This includes a contract for six DGK compact submarines from DRASS, worth approximately $1.4 billion, with the first tranche valued at $480 million for two submarines plus support and training.
Indonesia will be the launch customer for the new submarines, which have advanced underwater warfare capabilities. Furthermore, Italy plans to supply three maritime patrol aircraft and has signed a letter of intent for M-346F aircraft delivery to Indonesia, valued at around €600 million.
