Italy's Ministry of Defense Seeks Procurement of Containerized Naval Mine Laying System
The Italian Ministry of Defense's Naval Armaments Directorate has announced a preliminary market consultation for a containerized naval mine laying system. This system will be deployed on the Italian Navy's newest vessels and aims to enhance safety during storage and transport of munitions. It will consist of two ISO20 standard containerized modules and include a Planning and Evaluation system. The procurement will provide mine laying capabilities for new naval platforms and ensure training for operators.

Italy's Ministry of Defense is initiating procurement for a containerized naval mine laying system intended for use on its latest naval vessels. The system, designed to enhance safety during munitions transport and storage, will include two ISO20 standard modules and a Planning and Evaluation system for mine laying operations.
It will be secured on the vessels with twist-lock systems, ensuring power supply and ease of mine release. The procurement aims to standardize mine deployment across platforms and includes a ten-year maintenance plan and operator training. Acceptance of the system will depend on successful sea trials.
