Ivanhoe Mines Reports Strong Q2 2026 Performance and Sustainability Advances
Ivanhoe Mines produced 64,328 tonnes of copper in Q2 2026, with increased mining rates expected in the second half. The company also achieved a record zinc output and advanced its sustainability initiatives with a new solar facility.

In Q2 2026, Ivanhoe Mines produced 64,328 tonnes of copper at the Kamoa-Kakula project, with operations recovering quickly from a brief shutdown at the Lualaba Copper Smelter. The company milled nearly 3 million tonnes of ore and the smelter produced 112,307 tonnes of high-strength sulphuric acid, with July prices around US$840 per tonne.
Future copper production is projected to increase by 30% to 8.5 million tonnes annually. Kipushi achieved a record 70,177 tonnes of zinc concentrate, while Platreef's new Shaft #3 ramp-up is on schedule for late 2027.
A 60-MW solar power facility is also being commissioned, expected to be operational by the end of Q3 2026. These developments may enhance investor confidence in Ivanhoe's operational resilience and sustainable practices.
